‘Working together to be the best that we can be’

Bay - Mrs Turner

Welcome to Bay Class - Year 1/ Year 2

Mrs Turner and Mrs Croshaw  would like to welcome you to the class page.

School Closures

At Netherfield Infant school the children take part in Take Five. The exercises are designed to improve health and wellbeing. The flyers have been sent out by the organisers so that the children can practise Take Five breathing at home. A password has already been sent by text and will remain the same each week. The exercises are only avaiable for our children as they have been trained to do them correctly. Please do not share them with anyone who isn't familiar with Take Five.

During school closures your child will have a pack of work to complete. All of the work included in the pack is based around work completed in class.

Each week new work will be added to the class page including daily phonics lessons.

Homework

Your child will bring home two books; a reading book which is matched to their phonics ability and a choosing book to share and enjoy. Please encourage your child to read regularly.

In our class we love to sing nursery rhymes . Here is the link if you would like to sing them at home.

Each day your child will require their reading bag, PE kit and water bottle in school.

Please can you make sure their name is on all PE kits and uniform as we have found some clothes which unfortunately do not have names in and no-one has claimed them. Please check our lost property box located in the hall if you have any missing items.

P.E days are Mondays and Fridays.

Phonics Screening

All children in Year 1 will take the Phonics Check during June. Any Year 2 children who didn't pass will retake the test.
